Well, we hope you enjoyed the show, even with all the rain.

With no rain.... but that's entirely up to the kids.

Everyone worked so hard to make this happen and when the rain came down, they only needed the tiniest of resets to plough on like the absolute troopers they all are. We feel blessed to have been on this journey with them. I'll never forget, running backstage to see if everything was ok, and seeing kids standing over the cardboard truck and other props in order to protect them from the heavy rain. So much commitment.
Side, note, we checked and checked the weather for the night, just light showers. It was a special rainstorm that wanted to join us right as the first actor began to speak.
You should also know that a large part of the dialogue and scene construction was created and developed by the actors in the scenes. We just gave them the framework to work off, which at the beginning had only four characters and 6 main scenes. Everything else they created together in drama classes.

Going forward...
It’s been an amazing first year for Jungle Academy and we are grateful for all the fun times and learnings we have had along the way.
Here are some of the many exciting plans we have coming up for 2023.
Details of our Adventure Camp will be released before Christmas - starts Jan 16
We are planning an amazing three day trek, in the area via stunning mountain roads and rarely used jungle pathways that we've spent many hours reopening. We’re also working on this being a pony assisted trek. Nothing like trekking with animals. Students who are interested to sign-up will need to be prepared to walk approximately 8 km per day.
Animal outreach programs.
In 2023 we will be focusing on creating some authentic animal outreach programs with other organisations in the area. We’ll also be inviting Dr. Whitney more to add even greater depth to our already great science classes.
Classes at Innoceanna will resume again with Julia, offering more engaging research and content into the marine sciences.
Big Games is gonna be back with even BIGGER games. We have some new games in the works that are going to be so awesome and fun. You’re not going to want or miss it. Can’t wait to get them started for more big field madness!
Karate
We have a new, amazing Karate teacher, Sensei Charline, starting with us who will be holding classes at the deck. We’re certain the students are going to love her energy.
Archery
Yes. It’s going to happen. We’re planning on making an after school archery club and shooting range on the straight part of the access road down to the river.
We Will Rock You the re-run and prequel.
After the hard work involved in the last showing of We Will Rock You, the students were very keen to do another showing plus they’ve been busy brainstorming a prequel. This show will feature both new and old roles and be rolled into one big show.
Creation of a new larger theatre space, classroom and indoor basketball half-court.
We are committed to building cost effective multi-purpose spaces that focus on openness and maximum utility for our students. A larger La Choza style structure, next to the Casita and where the dome currently is will allow the students much more space to engage in the sports they like, plus be able to hold bigger and better shows - without having to battle through freak rainstorms.
Dialling up the core classes
We're going to be working super hard on the content and curriculum of our three core classes, English, Math and Spanish, erstwhile offering amazing, old and new elective classes from our established and new teachers.
